After the greatness of the Daredevil TV show I cannot wait to see what happens on Netflix?s Jessica Jones show. Krysten Ritter stars as the titular hero and the show is based on the Alias comic by Brian Michael Bendis. That was a dark, graphic comic that had terrible things happen and it will be interesting to see what carries over into the show. Daredevil proved that a darker, more adult orientated comic book show can work.
Also starring on the show are David Tennant (Doctor Who, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) as Kilgrave, Rachael Taylor (Shutter, Transformers) as Patsy Walker, Mike Colter (Zero Dark Thirty, Million Dollar Baby) as Luke Cage, Carrie-Ann Moss (The Matrix, Memento) as Harper, Eka Darville (The Originals, Empire) as Malcolm, and Erin Moriarty (The Kings of Summer, The Watch) as Hope.
Producer Jeph Loeb has been talking about the tone of the show and the characters of Jessica and Killgrave.
In the same kind of way Vincent D?Onofrio owned his half of ?Daredevil, you?ll see David Tennant own his half of ?Jessica Jones.?
What you get out of ?Jessica? is a sort of hold-your-breath tension as to what?s going to happen. When you see the dynamic between Krysten Ritter and David Tennant? that question of ?What?s going to happen next?? and ?What could happen next?? and how that?s driven by character is something that is so important to not just the scripts but also the way the show is shot, and the way that everyone reacts, and the way those two react with each other.
Executive producer Melissa Rosenberg went on to talk about the character of Jessica.
That all sounds absolutely splendid and hopefully we will get a trailer soon.
Jessica Jones hits Netflix later this year.
